Wow Google is really doing a lot of things to attract the attention of Internet users. Now it has come up with a new look for Gmail. Moreover you can also apply themes for your Gmail inbox. These days many people are showing interest in using Gmail. Even I prefer to use Gmail and uses other services very often. Google had rolled out around 30 themes to spice up your Gmail inbox. I tried using them and felt the new and exciting look to be very good.
There is a shiny theme with chrome styling, another one that turns your inbox into a retro notepad. There is also a classic version if you prefer the dull old monotonous style(?). There are some simple themes like New Blue, Cold Shower, Steel, Minimalist, Green Sky and many more with just some simple color variations. There are some complex themes like the Desk, Tree, beach, Mountains, Pebbles, Planets, Ninja and many more.
There is a terminal theme which will convert your inbox to an old computer terminal with black and green letters over it. For some of the themes even the Gmail logo is changed. Some themes change the layout based on the location. So you can set your location and the background changes based on the time. Some themes change during the day, and the location data is used for the changes with your local sunrise, sunset, and/or weather. If you select one of these themes, you’ll see a Country/Region drop-down menu appear. Select the country you want, and then enter a city in the field provided.
Though many themes are looking good, if feel my inbox is cluttered and I prefer to use the Default theme. More over the current default theme has been changed. It looks more crisper and cleaner now.
To customize your inbox, go to the Themes tab under Settings and apply the themes.
