Realizing the potential of the tablet market several Indian mobile firms are preparing to come up with tablets within Rs 10,000 and Rs 20,000. Firms such as Spice, Karbonn and Lava Mobiles are all prepared to foray in the tablet market. The decision of Indian firms to venture into the tablet market is sure to give tough competition to established players such as Apple’s iPad and Samsung’s Galaxy Tab.
While Spice Mobile is planning to come up with a tablet costing Rs 15,000, Lava Mobiles is looking forward to launch a seven inch tablet for Rs 17,000-Rs 18,000. Lava Mobiles is looking forward to come up with a tablet on Android platform and the tablet in all probability will be launched by September. The tablet to be launched by Karbonn Mobiles is set to be equipped with features like proximity and lighting sensors.
New Entrant Beetel To Join The Race
Meanwhile, Bharti Teletach (Beetel) also plans to foray into the tablet market with the company planning to target smaller cities. Beetel is planning to sell its products in over 125 towns. However, the major challenge for Indian firms will be pricing. In coming days, just like the Indian cell phone market, the tablet market is also set to witness intense competition.
