Extract Audio From Cassette Player With Audiograbber Freeware Utility
Audiograbber is a free utility to record audio from external sources like CD, radio etc. and save them in your computer. The best things is that Audiograbber will copy the audio tracks digitally. So you will definitely get a better sound quality. With the help of Audiograbber you can even record audio tracks from your Cassette players and LP’s. Audiograbber can automatically normalize the music, delete silence in the tracks and do many other things.
You can save the converted audio tracks in MP3 or WMA format. You can use different types of encoders for conversion. You can even set the volume level when you are actually grabbing the music.
Audiograbber advantages:
- Simple and easy to use user interface.
- A good help file is available with clear descriptions.
- It works with most of the CD-ROM drives that supports digital audio.
I suggest this software because it does not install any DLL’s in your system folder. Moreover it doesn’t edit the registry. So if you do not need the software you can just delete the folder.

I need to get my cassette tapes onto my computer hard drive before they deteriorate. I have downloaded Audiograbber to achieve this but I need to know what connection is required between the tape player and the laptop?
As you will guess I am very much a beginner at this so any advice would be much appreciated, please respond to the above E-mail address.
Thanks J.

You need a male-male wire.. hmm that looks like your headset pin on both the sides.. connect one end to the cassette player and other end to the computer line-in and pay the cassette player while recording the song..using software like audiograbber
Samrat, thanks for the very quick response, you are a life saver, my music is irreplacable.
Regards J.
Hi Samrat, am up and running and getting really good recordings but I am separating the tracks manually because I can’t get the automatic track break sensitivity right. Would appreciate your input on the problem.
Regards J.
@John Suff
Just use some simple audio editing software to modify the recorded audio.
