Google had yet come up with a new feature called Google Latitude for Google Maps. This new feature will definitely help mobile users to get in touch with their friends very easily. Yo can share your current location with other users so that they can find you very easily. This will definitely help you to track your family and friends very easily and effectively. Apart from using Google Latitude on your mobile you can also use it on your PC. You can add a photo to your profile or add some status messages and share with your friends. You can visit google.com/latitude from your mobile or PC to use it.
With Google Latitude you can share your location and status messages with your friends by inviting them from your Gmail contacts. You can easily control your privacy by sharing or setting or hiding your location. You can even hide your current location or share a city centric location with your other friends. You can even set the data on a friend-by-friend basis. With Google Latitude for Mobile You can see on a map where your friends are and what they are doing. You can even contact them very quickly using SMS, Google Talk, Gmail or by updating your status messages.
If you do not have a mobile you can use the iGoogle Gadget to use Google Latitude on PC. The Google Latitude iGoogle gadget will allow you to share your location, add friends, view friends location on your computer. But for it to work you need to install Google Gears(Google Gears is a browser plug-in that has a Geolocation API which allows to find your approximate location through your web browser).
Google Latitude is available for Android devices and most BlackBerry, Symbian S60 and Windows Mobile 5.0 and above devices. Latitude is currently available in 27 countries and in 42 languages.
