If you have got a lot of AVI files and are looking to recompress them then you can try AVI ReComp. AVI ReComp also supports the conversion of AVI files without Audio apart from the normal AVI files. AVI ReComp can also be used to embed subtitles into video. AVI ReComp will be very useful for users who want to clear their AVIs out of GMC or Qpel functions and use the videos in standalone DVD players.
The installation pack contains all the necessary components like VirtualDubMod, AviSynth and XviD. Right now AVI ReComp uses only XviD codec for the recompression process. It would have been better if they had added some more codecs. AVI ReComp also enables batch encoding, getting detailed information about AVI files and adding your own logo to the movie file. You can even change the resolution and aspect ratio of your videos. There is a Cropping tool which can be used to crop existing black borders or just change video aspect ratio. AVI ReComp supports AVI files with the audio formats like mp3, wav, ac3, ogg, dts and subtitle formats like TMPlayer (.txt), SubViewer2 (.sub), MicroDVD (.txt / .sub), Advanced SubStation Alpha (.ass), SubRip (.srt) and SubStation Alpha (.ssa).
